- Description:
- ------------
-
- Before you download, this version of the Sample Editor NEEDS
- the following minimum set-up:
-
- * System 7
- * 68020 or better processor (Mac II, LC, etc.)
- * 640 x 480 8-bit monitor
- plus * Sound input device and plenty of RAM, if you want to record.
-
- The Sample Editor is an application that allows you to edit and
- manipulate sampled sound on the Macintosh. It supports sound input
- and output from Audio Interchange (AIFF) files, Mac 'snd' resources,
- and the Clipboard. The sound may be compressed by a factor of up
- to 6:1. You can also record direct from any connected microphone,
- limited only by the available memory. The waveform of a sound can be
- displayed in any level of detail you require by selecting the part
- you wish to zoom in on. You can edit it using Cut, Copy, Paste and
- Clear, and apply transformations such as Fade, Normalise, Crossfade
- and Digital Delay.
-
- Other features include:
-
- * Full balloon help
- * Flash 3d user interface based on the Hypercard audio palette
- * Auto-play of files in open file dialogue box
- * Real-time pitch bending
- * On-screen indication of playback position
- * Overview of whole waveform displayed at all times
- * Time grid behind main waveform
- * Animated input level meter
- * Selections and insertion points can be marked and named
- * Full Undo and Redo support
- * Other bits and pieces (some good, some bugs...)
-
- A full user guide is included with the application in Word 4.0 format.
